Ipoh City Day 2022 Unites People in Goodwill and Harmony – Rumaizi
It has been nearly a month of the 34th Ipoh City Day celebration which began on May 27 with the participation of various parties and citizens.
The Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said that the involvement of people from all walks of life in the celebration is encouraging.
“The activities organised are able to create unity and harmony among visitors of all ethnicity and age.”
“This is an ideal opportunity for all to resume public activities after fighting the Covid-19 pandemic for over 2 years.”
“There has been participation from outside Perak as well, whereby they come to Ipoh on the weekend just to join the many programmes such as the Family Picnic Night @ Ipoh Car Free Nite,” he said to Ipoh Echo during a recent interview.
In conjunction with the celebration of Ipoh City Day 2022, aside from leisure activities, various special opportunities have been offered to the public such as a 70% reduction for MBI traffic compounds, free access to the Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre, and free boat tickets at the Gunung Lang Recreational Park.
On June 26, an explorace which is a highlight of the celebration will be held, involving over ten teams. Participation priority is given to Perakeans. The event is scheduled to take place at the Gunung Lang Recreational Park and around the city of Ipoh.
