IPOH – Located at the Manhattan Business Center on Jalan Pasir Puteh, New Yorker Cafe serves both western and eastern food at affordable prices.
Despite its English name, don’t be quick to judge, as this cafe that’s part of the premises owned by Manhattan Hotel, is certified as halal.
The assistant sales manager of Manhattan Hotel, Mohd. Azizan Md. Zain (aka Jebat), stated that the cafe has recently been renovated upon moving to its new location.
According to him, it is located two doors down from Manhattan Hotel with plenty of space and is able to serve up to sixty customers at a time.
“We have around forty ala carte items on our menu. This cafe offers a menu that covers everything, from the main course to dessert and drinks”.
“There’s a selection of western and asian foods, as well as cakes, drinks, pizzas, burgers and salads.
Despite the luxurious decor akin to New York style, the pricing here is reasonable, ranging from as low as RM7.90 to RM49.
New Yorker Cafe also has a special room that can accommodate up to eight people, for those who wish for a little privacy. On top of that, there is no extra charge for this, except that customers need to spend at least RM200 in a single bill.
According to Jebat, aside from the ala carte items, the cafe also offers promotions consisting of set lunches and set dinners.
Among the set lunches are Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese, priced at RM15.90, Penyet Chicken Rice at RM19.90 and Roasted Chicken Ribs at RM22.90; in which all comes with either hot or cold tea and a scoop of ice cream.
Meanwhile, the set dinners are Crispy Chicken Aglio Olio at only RM16.90, Roasted Chicken Leg at RM22.90 and Single Cheesy Fish & Chips at RM25.90.
He added that other popular dishes include the Grilled Chicken Chop, Grilled Rack of Lamb, Chicken Percik Burger, Crispy Chicken Carbonara and the New Yorker pizza.
