Taiping Municipal Council Signs Corruption-Free Pledge
Yang Dipertua of Taiping Municipal Council (MPT), Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir stressed on the importance of accountability, honesty, efficiency and integrity in carrying out one’s duty.
Thus, a signing ceremony of the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) was held to increase awareness and instill values of integrity.
“The ceremony today is in line with the efforts of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) in combating corruption.
“The pledge also proves the commitment of MPT to good governance in realising its mission and vision.
He said so during the ceremony at the MPT Hall yesterday.
Present were Deputy Director of Operations for SPRM Perak, Rosley Mohamad Satar and MPT Council Secretary, Kamaruzzaman Kamari.
Held for the fourth time at MPT, the first ever signing was carried out on 15 August 2017 involving all council members, department heads, division leaders and staff members of MPT.
Meanwhile, the second was held on 28 September 2018 and the third on 1 July 2020.
Khairul Amir hoped that the pledge will further boost excellence.
“Besides that, I wish to remind all present today including myself to stay away from corruption or abuse of power.
