The 11th hockey carnival by the Ipoh Lads Hockey Club will unfold on Saturday, July 2 from 8am at the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Stadium in Ipoh.
This annual event has been postponed for 2 years due to the pandemic and is set to return with a bigger scale this year.
Ipoh Lads President, Malvinderjit Singh Randhawa explained, “This year’s carnival, the 11th edition, will be bigger than the previous years as there will be 35 teams participating in all 3 categories to be contested: Open, Veteran (45 and above) and Veteran (50 and above).
According to him, the registered teams hail from all over Malaysia and Singapore.
Among the objectives of this annual carnival are to raise funds for the club activities besides continuously promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The committee of Ipoh Lads Hockey Club also expressed gratitude towards the Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Persatuan Hoki Perak for their support in ensuring the success of the upcoming carnival.
Established in 2009 by a group of ex-state players, Ipoh Lads Hockey Club has emerged as one of the most active sporting clubs in the state. For instance, it has regularly held and joined various sports, charity events and development activities.
