Ipoh residents are encouraged to download the PARK@PERAK application in preparation for the full digitization of parking payment charges from 2024 onwards.
The Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said the Ipoh City Council (MBI) is in full digitisation phase in terms of operations and payment of parking charges.
The programme is being implemented in stages through the PARK@PERAK mobile application in order to make Ipoh a Smart City by 2030.
“PARK@PERAK now features the latest functions which are Daily Pass, Monthly Pass, Vehicle Sticker Status Check (VIP, Media and UTC Pass) and Digital Agent.
“In conjunction with the intention of going fully digital, MBI will no longer sell physical coupons to parking coupon sales agents effective June 1,” he said.
He said this while addressing the MBI Plenary Meeting in July at the MBI Meeting Hall on Friday.
He said however, that existing physical coupons can still be sold to the public and used until 31 December 2023.
