1,500 Free Trash Bins Distributed to Residents of Zone 17
The Ipoh City Council (MBI) continues to empower the citizens to do their part in the waste management of the city by implementing the provision of free waste bins.
This time the distribution involves the residents of Zone 17.
Among them are those in Taman Desa Aman, Desa Pengkalan Indah, Taman Seri Magah and Taman Berkat.
MBI Zone 17 Councilor, Councilor Nor Afzainizam Salleh said, as many as 1,500 trash bins have been distributed from house to house by MBI officers and volunteers.
“We were able to complete the free bin distribution programme for today, in order to help cultivate the practice of using bins in Zone 17 as we aim for Ipoh to be the cleanest city by 2023.
“Thank you to the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud for the initiative of this programme.
“Also don’t forget the cooperation of JPP Zone 17, Ar-Rahmaniah Surau Committee and local residents in making this programme a success,” he told Ipoh Echo.
The distribution of trash bins can make it easier for residents to collect waste materials that are ready to be tied in plastic bags before being picked up by cleaning staff.
“It is MBI’s hope to ensure that residents can cultivate the use of trash bins in a good way.
“With this wheelie bin, it can avoid garbage being placed in front of the house for example or hung on a fence post,” said Nor Afzainizam.
At the same programme, as many as 200 Jalur Gemilang were distributed to the local community to fuel the spirit of celebrating the month of independence.
