The Ipoh City Council (MBI) contingent was announced as the winner of the Parade of Local Authorities, Statutory Bodies, Private and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) categories.
MBI enjoyed a second victory when they also won third place in the Best Dressed Category.
Their appearance of a red national dress, complete with a side cloth patterned with the theme of the Independence Day celebration along with a bow and blue skirt turned out to captivate the judges.
This dress was designed by MBI’s interior designer, Faridah Abd. Aziz, who presented the concept of a glorious and creative lifestyle as portrayed using the Jalur Gemilang and traditional fashion.
This MBI contingent, which consisted of 60 officers and workers from various departments, had started training since a month ago.
The victories are among the MBI’s best achievements in the Perak State National Day Celebration parade. It is also the result of the guidance by the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud and the City Secretary, Ahmad Munir Ishak.
The victory saw the MBI contingent take home cash prizes of RM5,000 for best parade and RM2,000 for best dressed, as well as a certificate presented by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
At the same time, MBI also participated in the vehicle contingent parade to further enliven the 2022 National Day Celebration at the Perak State Level.
