The Sultan of Perak Attended The National Day Celebrations In Ipoh
The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim attended the 2022 National Day Celebration Ceremony at the Perak state level at Dataran Bandaraya on Wednesday.
The two of them arrived at Dataran Bandaraya at about 8 am accompanied by their two children, Raja Azlan Muzaffar Shah and Raja Nazira Safya.
Also attending were Raja Dihilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah and Raja Puan Muda Perak, Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim.
His Majesty’s arrival was greeted by the Menteri Besar of Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, the State Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and the State Government Exco.
The Sultan of Perak then inspected the officers and members of the Royal Engineer Soldier Regiment, Division Camp Sangro 2, Taiping.
The event started with a prayer before a performance from the choirs of SJKC Ave Maria Convent, SMJK Sam Tet and SMJK Ave Maria Convent, with the song Keluarga Malaysia Teguh and Jalur Gemilang.
The ceremony continued with the entry parade of 95 contingents joined by approximately 6,200 participants from various agencies and local governments, uniformed teams of public universities and non-governmental organisations.
Attendees were also treated to a musical performance titled ‘Merentas Gempita Bersama Keluarga Malaysia’, which told the story of the struggles that Malaysians went through due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
About 15,000 people, made up of multi-racial communities, attended the celebration which was considered the most lively after being delayed for two years due to COVID-19.
