Donation Of 5 Hemodialysis Machines To Help Speed Up Treatment Time

A donation of five units of hemodialysis machines from two private companies to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) is considered to be very valuable in ensuring kidney patients get treatment. The addition of these machines would help in reducing the waiting period for the patients concerned.

According to the Executive Councillor for Health, Science, Environment and Green Technology, Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin, the machines are worth RM200,000 and were donated through the Ipoh City Council (MBI) intermediaries, under the MBI Prihatin program.

“These five hemodialysis machine units were donated by Syarikat Gergasi Properties Sdn. Bhd. and Agro Tech Pro (M) Sdn. Bhd. through MBI to HRPB.

“Thanks also goes to MBI, especially the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud for acting as an intermediary through the MBI Prihatin Program.

“The more machines available, the more patients will be able to receive treatment at the same time.

“I understand that this equipment was received by the hospital on 16 August and has been in use since,” he said after officiating the Donation Ceremony of Five Hemodialysis Machines Through MBI to HRPB on Monday.

Also present were the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud and HRPB Director, Dr. Megat Iskandar Megat Abdul Hamid.

Mohd Akmal hopes that the machines will be put to good use and able to help save more lives.

He also welcomed the efforts of any party to contribute through their respective corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

“Apart from helping to get this kind of donation, MBI also acts wisely through relations with external parties such as China.

“Previously, the parties involved donated two ventilators, specially brought from Nanning and donated to HRPB to help patients with COVID-19,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rumaizi said the MBI Prihatin programme will continue to make Ipoh a prosperous city.

“Thank you to the companies and donors who joined hands to provide this equipment for the patients.
