The Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud, launched the Mid Autumn Carnival for September 3 to 4.
According to Rumaizi, the Moon Cake Festival or Mid Autumn Festival is a festival that could be used to feature agricultural products during the duration of the celebration.
“The moon cake festival is also associated with the Lantern Festival, but there are other festivals that are also closely related to lanterns such as Chap Goh Mei.
“The Ipoh City Council (MBI) always encourages more private companies such as Syarikat Chang Jiang International Sdn. Bhd in organising various community activities such as this Mid Autumn Carnival,” he told Ipoh Echo after the Mid Autumn Carnival Launch Ceremony or Mooncake Festival at People’s Park last night.
Rumaizi also hopes that in the future, there will be more celebratory activities of each race to strengthen harmony and unity in a sovereign and independent country.
Also present were the Director of Chang Jiang International Sdn. Bhd., Foong Choa Mun and Councilors of Ipoh City Council.
