The atmosphere of the city’s popular recreation area, Bukit Kledang, was enlivened with a sea of green when more than 400 participants wearing green clothes, took part in the Kledang Walk 2022.
The programme started with some aerobics for a warm-up session and then some stretching before the participants started the walking activity.
The event was also attended by the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud.
Also present was the Ipoh City Council (MBI) Member, Clr. Mahader Ahmad Mohammad Ayob who is also the Programme Organising Chairman, Council Member, Senior Director and MBI Department Head.
Rumaizi said the programme was organised by MBI in collaboration with the Zone 20 Resident Committee.
Rumaizi said, this healthy activity is part of a programme designed to fuel the celebration of Independence Month 2022 and that it also coincided with the celebration of Malaysia Day.
“God willing, many people will attend and participate in this kind of programme. We want to work together with the community to increase activities, apart from our usual duties.
“As everyone knows, Bukit Kledang is one of the popular locations for those who want to exercise or have fun. My hope is that it remains one of the attractions for visitors to Ipoh, to see the beauty of nature,” he said.
