Ipoh Central Project To Implement Memorandum Of Agreement In The Near Future
The Perak State Secretary Incorporation (SSI) and the Railway Asset Corporation (RAC) are working together to make the Ipoh Central integrated development project a success.
State Government Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, said so far a series of meetings and memorandums of understanding (MoU) have been signed for the project.
“RAC and SSI are working together and several meetings have already been held.
“The MoU has been signed and now we are waiting for the memorandum of agreement (MoA) in the near future.
“This project is ongoing. After the MoA we will hold a press conference to publicize this,” he said.
He said this at a press conference after the Perak State Government’s Meet the Customers Day Programme, at the Indera Mulia Stadium on Tuesday.
Last Sunday the media reported that the government will implement the Ipoh Central integrated development project to provide comfort to more than 4,000 daily passengers at Ipoh Railway Station, the busiest station after KL Central.
At the same time, heritage buildings, including the railway station and temples found around the area will be maintained.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said the government also agreed that the long-term project would be implemented as a joint venture between the Railway Asset Corporation (RAC) and the Perak State Secretary Corporation (SSI).
However, he said, there is no set time period for the project because it requires careful planning.
