Perak Sejahtera Career Carnival Offers 10,000 Job Opportunities
Job seekers are urged to grab more than 10,000 job opportunities offered at the Perak Sejahtera Career Carnival, which takes place on 17 and 18 September.
Chairman of the State Education, Higher Education and Human Resources Committee, Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud said the carnival was organised in conjunction with the Youth Friendly Carnival (KAMU) at the Indera Mulia Stadium, here.
The carnival is organised by the state government through the implementing agent, Perak Children’s Aspiration Center (PASAK).
Ahmad Saidi said the career carnival will involve as many as 60 companies from various sectors of industry from all over the country.
“The industries involved are from the well-known aviation service sector, oil & gas, manufacturing, mining, tourism and hospitality.
“It’s not just job interviews but will also involve running useful programmes, such as a resume clinic and skills to help job seekers.
“It starts from 8am to 5pm and will be officiated by the Perak Chief Minister Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad,” he said.
Additionally, Ahmad Saidi also left advice and messages to job seekers who will attend this carnival later.
“For job seekers, don’t come empty-handed but instead come prepared, as if you are being interviewed and will be accepted for work.
“Because we are prepared for the interview process to be done directly at that time; so it is a loss to those who come just to ask what they need to bring and so on. With that said, if possible, always come ready and be sufficiently prepared. Have your resume and certificates ready while being neatly and fully dressed for the interview,” he added.
Meanwhile, when commenting further on the unemployment rate in the state, Ahmad Saidi said that so far, it shows a downward trend.
“In 2021 the unemployment rate in Perak was 57,900 people or 5.3 percent.
“Thank God until last April we saw a downward trend of 3.8 percent or 42,700 people,” he said.
The Perak Sejahtera Career Carnival is the sixth career carnival conducted by PASAK this year.
Previously, PASAK held a small-scale carnival at the district level that was well received by the local population.
Among the companies that will be involved in the two day carnival are 99 Speedmart Sdn Bhd, Carsem (M) Sdn Bhd, AirAsia Bhd, Maybank, RHB Bank, Bromma (M) Sdn Bhd, Proton Tanjung Malim Sdn Bhd and Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad.
