The ‘happy hour’ sale will see the price of chicken for as low as RM4 while grade B eggs will cost just RM10 per carton; these are just a couple of the attractions at the Food Security Carnival @ Perak Sejahtera 2030 this time.
The two-day carnival will take place this Saturday and Sunday (September 17-18) at Arena Rakyat Tualang Sekah, Kampar.
The Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (PPPNP) in a statement on Thursday said that the carnival was organised by it and the Perak State Department of Agriculture.
It also noted that it was the second carnival organised after the first one, which was held on September 4 to 5 last, at Dewan Millenium, Lubok Merbau.
“People are invited to come in droves to this carnival. The main purpose of it is to give people in all corners of Perak the opportunity to get daily necessities of agro-based industrial products (IAT).
“Food products are available with low prices and high discounts when compared to the market.
“This cheap sale will involve the participation of various government departments and agencies such as the Perak Department of Agriculture for fruit trees & vegetables and PPPNP for fresh beef & lamb.
“Federal Agricultural Marketing Board, Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority, Department of Veterinary Services, Malaysian Pineapple Industry Board and Perak State Entrepreneur Secretariat.
In the meantime, various courses from government departments and agencies were held for the public such as viral marketing organised by the People’s Trust Council (MARA) and subsidised mammogram & HPV DNA tests by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN).
This carnival is also enlivened with side events such as the Kayuhan Perak Sejahtera @ Kampar programme.
Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad is also scheduled to spend time holding an information session related to Perak Sejahtera 2030.
