A total of 100 children have participated in the ‘Healing Bears Project’ programme, which was held at Pantai Hospital Ipoh last Sunday.
Pantai Hospital Ipoh in a statement informed that this programme is specially opened to children aged 5 to 8 years.
According to the statement, the objective of the programme is to give children as young as 5 the opportunity to learn first aid skills.
“Kids can learn how to dress a wound and be given a basic understanding of wound care.
“The participants were taken into an ambulance to experience what it’s like to be a medical officer,” said the statement.
In addition, health talk sessions by Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Paediatricians & Nutritionists are specially arranged for the parents of the participants.
The topics for this health talk focuses on Gynaecological Cancer, Influenza for children and healthy diets for children.
At the end of the programme, a prize giving ceremony was held for the participants.
Each participant received a bear statue, a souvenir bag and a mission recognition certificate.
