In collaboration with 20 industries and government agencies, Ungku Omar Polytechnic (PUO) organised the PUO Career Carnival 2022, through its Marketability and Career Unit (CISEC).
The objective of the carnival, among others, is to provide graduates who are comprehensively equipped to meet the needs of the industry.
It is to provide a platform and exposure to students about career opportunities they can get from different industries and also the public sector after graduation.
“The carnival was officiated by PUO’s Deputy Director of Academic Support, Dr. Mohd Nor Azam Mohd Dali.
“PUO is taking steps to join hands with industries and government bodies across the country to provide space and opportunities to assist in the marketability of graduates and the community, in line with the current needs of the industry.”
“Realising that the country is now in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, graduates will have to face the upcoming wave of transformation.”
“The requirements of Industry 4.0 emphasises the mastery of the 4C elements, which are: critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration and creativity,” he stressed.
In a statement, PUO said that it is working hard to increase strategic collaborations, by making strides with industry partners and government agencies related to technology, covering all fields.
“The cooperation of all these sectors will drive the country’s economic growth.”
“In conjunction with this career carnival, a career seminar was also held with the Perak State Perkeso, Upskilling Yourself Seminar by the Perak Entrepreneur & Skills Development Centre (PESDC) and a Your Way Forward After Diploma Seminar by the Petronas University of Technology (UTP).”
“This includes University Technical Malaysia (UTEM), an Investment Seminar by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and a special session with UniKL,” he said.
Among the industry partners involved in this career carnival are Plexus Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad, Home Product Centre (M) Sdn Bhd, Kamaya Electric(M) Sdn Bhd, Murata Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd, Schlumberger and Intel Malaysia.
