A total of 100 tourism industry activists from five states gathered at the Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Networking Session – Perak programme on Tuesday.
The programme organised by Tourism Malaysia in the Northern Region also involved hotel operators, products, associations and tourism agencies from Penang, Kedah, Perlis, Negeri Sembilan including Perak.
Director of Tourism Malaysia Northern Region, Shahrul Aman said the session acts as a platform for players in the tourism industry in the northern and central regions to share information and promotions.
Shahrul said, it is also an effort to revive the domestic tourism sector during the current endemic period.
“This is in line with the national mission to foster a tourism presence of 9.2 million people with an income of RM26.8 billion for the year 2022.
“For the product presentation session, a total of five presenters shared information about the latest products that can be offered to tourists.
“Among them are Gembox from Negeri Sembilan, Amari Hotel Pulau Pinang, The Hooton Retreat Negeri Sembilan, Alun Retreat Pulau Pangkor and Segar City Negeri Sembilan.
“It is to exchange views on current issues and at the same time establish a good business network with industry partners from other states,” he said when speaking to inaugurate the programme.
He added that he hoped that the organisation of the four-point meeting session will produce more interactive and innovative domestic tourism packages.
“The networking session in this state is a continuation of the successful organisation of the same session held in Penang, Kedah and Perlis,” he added.
He said, it still maintains the same approach and method, which involves presenters consisting of hoteliers and tourism products.
