The financial position of the Perak state government is in a strong state as it recorded revenue collection exceeding the figure of RM1.0 billion.
Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said, this repeats the performance in 2016 to 2019, which was the achievement before the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The revenue collection for the current year has also exceeded the estimate of RM1.032 billion. This achievement has strengthened the State Government’s cash flow.
“Based on that development, I am confident that the state government will succeed in closing the account this year in a surplus position,” he said when speaking at the 2023 Budget Presentation in conjunction with the recent Perak State Legislative Assembly Conference.
He said the strong financial position also managed to cover the shortfall in the State Development Fund which has now turned positive after being in a negative state.
“Not only that, we have also succeeded in increasing the State Consolidated Revenue Account balance. Alhamdulillah, thank you and congratulations to all Perak State civil servants,” he said.
