A total of 39 Perak Para SUKMA athletes received incentives from the Perak State Government in conjunction with winning medals at the Para SUKMA XX MSN 2022 Games on 1 to 6 November 2022.
Menteri Besar, Dato Seri Saarani Mohamad, said the success not only made the state of Perak proud, but it once again proved that the people of Perak are capable of shining and excelling in any field, including sports.
“As a citizen of the state of Perak, it will definitely be an aspiration for young people. It is my great hope to see success after success continue to be carved by the athletes of Perak.
“For me, nothing is impossible to achieve if we work hard and unite together in giving support to the competing athletes,” he said while speaking in conjunction with the Incentive Handover Ceremony to the Perak Para SUKMA Contingent, at MH Hotel yesterday.
A total of five new Para SUKMA records have been broken by Perak athletes.
The SUKMA XX Sportswoman Award was successfully won by Nur Jannaton Abdul Jalil, the Perak archery athlete. She has created history by performing brilliantly in winning three gold medals at the Games.
According to Saarani, each medal won received incentives amounting to RM5,000.00 for athletes who won individual event gold medals, RM3,000.00 for silver medals and RM1,000.00 for bronze medals. This incentive will also involve every new record Para SUKMA successfully creates.
“Coaches and team managers also receive incentives based on their commitment and efforts that have been contributed. The incentive value given is the same as that received by the SUKMA Contingent of Perak,” he said.
