Hormat dan Harmoni Event Breaks Record for Malaysia Book of Records at AEON Falim

by KT Leong

The KANDORA! Kantan Drum Circle broke the record of the biggest pail drumming event with 826 participants and more in attendance, earning them an entry into the Malaysia Book of Records. People came to register and receive their free pail and ladle from as early as 10.30 am, and although the record breaking attempt would not be done until after 4 pm, the entire mall shook with revelry from noon onwards, as the band and children rhythmically played their instruments and even broke out into a sing-along of Rasa Sayang at one point.

In addition to breaking the record, the event, which took place on Chinese New Year Eve, was also an opportunity to give back to the community such as the invitation for underprivileged children to be part of the historic event, creating fond memories along the way.

Those invited to attend included Our Little Friends From Smart Kids Group, Joyful Children’s Home, Praise Children’s Home, Salvation Army Boys Home, Salvation Army Girls Home, Rainbow Children’s Home, The Shepherd Boys Home and the Ceylonese Association (Mrs. Jega, Mr. Devan Arthilalingam and Mr. Saba).

Attending the event were Yang Berhormat Mohd Azlan Helmi bin Helmi (Exco Komunikasi, Multimedia & NGO), Yang Berhormat Puan Thulsi Manogaran (ADUN Buntong), Yang Berbahagia Datuk Hariri (Ipoh mayor representative), Puan Nurmalis Musa (CEO Tourism Perak), Tuan Meor Rezal Fitri Dato’ Dr. Hj. Meor Redwan (CEO Digital Perak), Tuan Khuswindera Singh (Ketua Cawangan Majlis Belia India Buntong) and Dr.Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi (AEON-Ketua Pegawai Sumber Manusia & Pengarah Komunikasi Korporat). With En Wan Adli, Co-founder Kandora! Kantan Drum Circle at the press conference, supported by Tan Teck Yin, President JCI Kinta.

The event was supported by ArtFAS, Yayasan Hasanah, Kementerian Kewangan Malaysia, Ipoh City Council, Malaysian Indian Youth Council (MIYC), JCI Kinta and of course, the Malaysia Book of Records.
