40,000 attended the CNY open house at the Lost World of Tambun

A total of 40,000 people attended the open house ceremony in conjunction with the Perak state Chinese New Year celebrations which took place at the Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) Theme Park, today.
The Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah together with the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim agreed to attend the ceremony together with other distinguished guests such as the Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for Tambun, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Menteri Besar of Perak Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, as well as the state government’s exco line-up.
The ceremony started with the traditional ceremony of mixing ‘Yee Sang’ by Sultan Nazrin together with the guests of honour as a symbolic celebration of the festival.
At the same time, Sultan Nazrin was pleased to deliver Chinese New Year ‘angpau’ to 66 orphans from three orphanages in Ipoh, Taiping and Kuala Kangsar.
The attendees, in addition to enjoying a variety of traditional Chinese food, also enjoyed some colourful and lively events which were featured, such as the performance of the Perak Scarf Band, Chinese Orchestra, Chinese Dance, Spring’s Day Show and many more.
