The first ever Climate Change Education for Teachers under Eco-Schools Programme was successfully delivered in Perak to 35 teachers.
First on board to take up this initiative were MB Inc and Perak State Education Department who promoted the course to school teachers in Perak.
This course is the catalyst to deliver targeted, timely and transformative training for educators, enabling flexible, rapid and distributed learning to reach the Eco-Schools Programme mission of 1000 Eco-Schools 2025, in line with the Malaysian Government’s vision and United Nations’ 2030 agenda.

“Now with Perak teachers armed with the knowledge and tools to teach climate education, I am absolutely confident of the future for a low-carbon city, a SMART city and Sustainable Perak will be realised sooner than planned.
“We are gearing towards Malaysians fully embracing Individual Climate Action in their daily lives, wherever they are and hope all Perak teachers become Climate Change educators by 2025,” he said.
Master Class trainer and founder of Language Works, Brian Cracknell said, the delivery objectives of the course were to promote participation, facilitation and learning skills among the teachers, as well as understanding the challenges and methods to guide and mentor their students.
“From another perspective, these are the teachers, and I hope more to come, who will be the drivers of building community resilience and contributing to the implementation of UN SDGs locally,” he said.
Deputy Director of Pupil’s Talent Development, Perak State Education Department, Zulkafli Mohd Mokhtar said, the Eco-Schools Programme has been well taken up by schools in Perak.
