Legendary cartoonist Fatah has passed away

The country lost another artist when the legendary cartoonist, Fatah Ngah, 70, famous for his Lagak A. Mamud cartoons in the humour magazine, Gila-Gila, died at his home in Kampung Alor Tembusu, Dungun, Terengganu.
The deceased died at 1.45 am this morning due to old age.
Fatah is one of the pioneer cartoonists of the country’s number one humour magazine, Gila-Gila, which began to reach readers in 1979.
Kartun Lagak A. Mahmud’s drawings in the Terengganu dialect were inspired by his daily life in the town of Dungun in the 1970s and 1980s.
The late Fatah who is also the brother of the country’s famous composer, Manan Ngah, is the third child of seven siblings.
In an interview, Manan, 62, said his brother had been bedridden due to an illness for more than five years.
Manan said their sister, Laili, took care of their brother all night until he breathed his last.
Fatah’s body was safely buried at Syed Yahaya Islamic Cemetery, Dungun at 12 noon.
