Various agencies join together to prevent Aedes

A total of 80 people from various government agencies participated in the Communal Work to Prevent Aedes Programme organised by the Hulu Perak District Health Office together with the Community of Neighbours (KRT) Zone 13 yesterday.
The programme started as early as 8.30am with the participation of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Gerik, Gerik District Police, Gerik Border Regiment 4th Battalion, Gerik District Council, Hulu Perak District Office, Gerik COMBI Club, Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) Hulu Perak, Malaysian Volunteer Department (RELA) Gerik, members of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and residents around the area.
The cooperative activities included Taman Sinaran, Taman Hijau Sinaran, Taman Beringin, Taman Angsana, Taman Selamat, Taman Ria and Syifa Quarters.
The chairman of the State Women, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneur Development Committee, Salbiah Mohamed was also present to support the programme.
Salbiah said the main purpose of the activity was to clean the surrounding area so that it would be free from the breeding of aedes mosquitoes.
“It is a follow-up to the increase in dengue fever cases and outbreaks that have been recorded across eight cases from the area around this housing.
“This activity is also one of the approaches so that the harmony and well-being of the population is always maintained and is able to be free from all disease outbreaks,” she said in a statement on her Facebook here.
