Police tracking those involved in row that went viral on WhatsApp

The police are tracking a group of individuals involved in a 23-second video that went viral through the Whatsapp application, which showed a commotion incident outside the Seri Kinta building on Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, last Sunday.
According to Ipoh District Police Chief, ACP Yahaya Hassan, people who have information about the incident are also asked to come forward to help with the investigation.
“It involves a group of individuals and was said to have happened in Ipoh, where it has attracted the attention of the general public.
“A check by the police found that the incident is believed to have happened on the night of February 5, outside the Seri Kinta building, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah.
“In connection with that, a police report has been made and the case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code (Riot),” he said in a statement today.
Therefore, he said, the public is advised not to make any speculations about the incident.
He said this is because it could affect the police investigation in addition to causing annoyance in the community.
