Six premises were destroyed by fire in Kampung Gajah

A total of six business premises were destroyed in a fire incident in Jalan Ulu Dedap, Taman Malinja, last night.
According to a statement, the fire destroyed six class B business premises, namely four grocery stores, a hardware store and a furniture store.
A spokesperson for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak said that they received a call regarding the incident at 8.55 pm.
After that, members of Kampung Gajah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) assisted by BBP Teluk Intan, BBP Tapah, Teluk Intan Volunteer Fire Brigade (PBS), PBS Ayer Tawar and PBS Pantai Remis rushed to the location.
“The first store burned by 80 percent, the second to fourth were burnt by 90 percent, the fifth 60 percent and another 10 percent.
“No victims were reported to be involved in the fire incident,” he said in a statement today.
He also said that the firemen did the work of extinguishing the fire using four streams with water from the machinery tank and the water sourced from the fire hydrant.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Rahman Peie ended at 3.27 am.
