ACG minifest at Aeon Station 18

The Wakunime Minifest: Sakura no Hana Festival is underway at Aeon Mall Ipoh Station 18 and will return for one more day tomorrow (19 February).
Ipoh’s Anime Cartoons Games (ACG) scene has been on a roll since last October, such as the Toyriffic Mini Carnival Vol 2. It’s been a near weekly affair with recent events such as Cosworld at Mydin Meru and Kawaii Fest at Aeon Mall Kinta City.
It’s been a boon for toy collectors and game enthusiasts, with cosplayers arguably being the biggest benefactors as they’ve been able to practice their passion without having to travel to more traditional pop culture hubs like Kuala Lumpur.
That said, this minifest isn’t just about cosplay. In fact, there’s more to see and do this time around. The vendor booths are bigger compared to some previous events, which has allowed the vendors to bring in more products from toys to model kits to model cars and other collectibles.
There are more activities this time around with an E-Gaming tournament running and even a Nerf shooting range. There are even tables set up for games of the Pokemon Collectible Card Game, where you might just catch a glimpse of some rare cards.
The organiser said that after running events nearly every week recently, that this event will be the last for a while, with the next event tentatively planned to be in May.
So ACG enthusiasts, especially cosplayers, should take the opportunity to strut their stuff on Day 2 of the event.
That said, it won’t be the last hobbyist gathering in Ipoh, as Pekan Mainan Ipoh will be holding a Collector Day on 25 and 26 of February at Aeon Mall Ipoh Klebang.
Finally, Berry Land has set up a bouncy village where children are sure to enjoy themselves. The cost is RM10 per entry but with no time limit. Tomorrow will also be the last day for this.
