Issues and problems involving telecommunication coverage in Perak state are being explored by various agencies involved through a touring initiative to identify the problems.
The Prosperous Perak 2030 Tour Convoy: Communication, Multimedia and NGO was launched yesterday.
The flag-off was completed by the Chairman of the Perak State Communications, Multimedia and NGO Committee, Mohd Azlan Helmi Helmi at Kompleks Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
Digital Perak is one of the state government agencies involved, with the participation of Chief Digital Officer of Perak, Meor Rezal Fitri Dato’ Dr Hajj Meor Redwan.
He said, this series of tours in each area of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) is to see the problems involving the issue of telecommunication line coverage and visit the Digital Economy Center (PEDi) in each district.
“The first destination of the convoy is the Ulu Kinta Digital Economy Center (PEDi) and Tualang Sekah PEDi.
“In addition, the convoy also visited areas with telecommunication coverage issues, namely at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kota Baharu and Kampung Air Denak, Tanjung Tualang,” he said.
Also participating in this convoy are the Communications, Multimedia and NGO Office, the Malaysian Multimedia Communications Commission, the Information Department, TM and Pos Malaysia.
Meanwhile Mohd. Azlan said that the tour was an initiative of the state government to improve telecommunication access to the people.
“The purpose of this initiative is for the state government to be more aware and concerned about local telecommunications issues and problems involving various parties.
“This includes District Officers, the President and other community leaders through bilateral briefing sessions,” he said.
This programme is conducted every Monday throughout the year and the convoy will travel to two constituencies of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) during each session.
