KUALA KANGSAR: A man died after the cement tanker he was driving overturned on the shoulder of the road at kilometre (km) 254.9 of the North-South Highway, northbound, here today.
According to the head of operations, Senior Fire Officer II Syed Azrul Hizam Syed Abdul Aziz, following the accident, the victim identified as Mohd Asuat Azmi, aged around 26, was thrown from his vehicle.
He further said that his party received a call regarding the incident at 3.15 am, and then members from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the location.
“The victim was confirmed dead at the scene of the incident by an officer of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) and handed over to the police for follow-up action,” he told reporters.
The operation ended completely at 4.13 am.
