IPOH: Persatuan Pengendali Umrah, Haji dan Ziarah (PUHAZ) fully supports and strongly agrees with the setting of a new floor price for umrah packages agreed by all members of the Persatuan Agensi Pelancongan Umrah & Haji Malaysia (PAPUH) in a meeting held recently.
The Secretary General of PUHAZ, Abdul Jabbar Mohammed Kahar said, the meeting was held to discuss the increase in air ticket prices, hotel cost rates and taxes in Mecca and Madinah which are high at this point in time and have risen sharply.
“All companies that sell umrah packages across the country, especially companies under PUHAZ, are very affected by this increase and it has affected the process of handling the packages.
“Therefore, in the meeting, all members agreed to set a new Floor Price for the Economy Umrah Package, starting from RM7,800, while the Premium or VIP Umrah Package starts from RM14,000.
Abdul Jabbar said, this price agreement is to take into account the appropriate rate and price logic for each package, according to the current situation at this time.
“PUHAZ hopes that all Jemaah and prospective Jemaah will understand the current situation.
“We also suggest that all Jemaah be careful and not choose an Umrah package with a price that is too cheap, in order to avoid any fraud,” he said.
