MUALLIM: A trailer loaded with ceiling plaster was destroyed in a fire incident at Kilometer (km) 375.8 of the North-South Highway (PLUS) heading south, here today.
According to the Head of Operations of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, Senior Fire Officer II Suhaimi Sarip said, he received a call regarding the incident at 9.17 am.
He also said that the trailer was 70 per cent burnt, however, there were no casualties.
“Members from the Slim River Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) with the help of the Slim Village Volunteer Fire Brigade rushed to the scene of the incident.
“Firefighters used two streams of hose reels from the machinery tank and were assisted by a team of Slim Village firefighters until the fire was completely extinguished,” he told reporters.
The operation ended completely at 10.37 am.
