IPOH: A total of 58 surgeons attended the three-day surgery workshop starting 3 – 5 March 2023.
General Manager, Ar-Ridzuan Hospital, Dahari Masud said the surgery course allowed participants to follow surgery that was recorded live from the operating room.
“This course aims to increase the knowledge, skills, experience and confidence of young surgeons in preparing to handle future cases.
“Technological advances such as joint replacement and arthroscopic procedures allow orthopaedics to see inside the joint.
“This procedure will benefit orthopaedic patients and also provide a better recovery and healing process for patients after the procedure.
“It is hoped that the participants will be able to update their knowledge and skills in orthopaedic practice, as well as share experiences through the exchange of ideas,” he said in a speech in conjunction with the 5th Ipoh Surgical Course with Dr Loh Choong Sing at the Kinta River Front Hotel room, today.

This group is organized by Ar-Ridzuan Hospital and Arthoworld in collaboration with Dr Loh Choong Sing for the third time.
Previously, two surgery groups were organized in other states.
The first speaker, KPJ Ipoh Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr Loh Choong Sing, delivered a talk guided by a video recording of the Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgery he had carried out.
While the other four speakers are Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr Tai Cheh Chin, Ara Damansara Hospital; Consultant Orthopedic and Trauma Specialist, Dr Se To Boon Chong, KPJ Pulau Pinang; Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr Yeoh Kian Hua, Ar-Ridzuan Hospital and Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr Kishan Rao, Kuala Lipis Hospital.
According to Dahari Masud, Ar-Ridzuan Hospital started orthopaedic services at the beginning of 2019 which before that was better known as a maternity and pediatric centre.
“Now we have added more disciplines such as Hemodialysis Unit, Orthopedic Specialist Clinic, General Surgery Clinic, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine and 24-hour Emergency & Accident Department.
“Other support services offered at Ar-Ridzuan Hospital include Pharmacy, Radiology and Medical Laboratory,” he added.
