BATU GAJAH: Chairman of the State Women, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneur Development Committee, Salbiah Mohamed visited the residents of Taman Seri Puteri (TSP) here yesterday.
TSP is a shelter institution for the care and rehabilitation of children established or designated under Section 55 (shelter) of the Children Act 2001.
The objective of TSP is to provide protection and rehabilitation to children who are exposed to moral danger or moral decay by fostering better attitudes and values to the residents.
“My soul melts and tears when I see the residents who are the same age as my children.
“But deep in my heart, I am grateful that all these teenagers are here safely and that they and their babies are protected. That is better than someone who continues to be depressed,” she said.
Salbiah said, that the State Government will continue to assist Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) as much as possible to offer the best protection services to children and teenagers.
“We can’t stop at just protecting, but the efforts towards curbing and giving sexual awareness to children will continue to be made,” she said
