Rentas Peninsular 2023: “Endurance Drive of Man & Machine”, will be taking place from March 15 to 18. This is a gruelling 60-hour marathon drive that will trek through multiple states across Peninsular Malaysia.
March 15 will actually be a briefing and get together for the drivers to familiarise with one another at the Akash Classics Malaysia Showroom in Canning Garden.
The Flag Off itself will be on March 16, at the Marrybrown Shell Lebuhraya Utara Meru, Ipoh, starting at 9 am. This will be the first Classic Car Marathon of its sort, featuring 18 cars that are at least 30 years old with 30 drivers to man them.
Beginning in Ipoh, Perak, this 1500 km will see the drivers traverse across Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor, Selangor and finally finishing in Kangar, Perlis.
While the drivers are fueled by the spirit of adventure, they are also driven by the spirit of kindness, as this marathon isn’t simply to challenge themselves, but to bring awareness to a worthy social cause. These drivers are putting themselves through this ordeal to help raise funds and awareness for PapanSouls, a charitable organisation dedicated to taking care of strays.
Rentas Peninsular 2023 doesn’t collect any donations from this, instead, they ask that those who wish to perform a kind deed, to donate directly to PapanSouls. Details in the flyer below.
In addition, PapanSouls is looking for land on which they can take care of the strays. They are looking for 2 acres with road access in a dog friendly area. Ideally within Ipoh, Simpang Pulai, Batu Gajah, Menglembu, Chemor or the Tambun area. If you have, or know of, such suitable land, please contact PapanSouls.
