KUALA LUMPUR:The Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) has organized a ‘World Health Organization (WHO) Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Initiative Seminar held at the Pasukan Mencari dan Menyelamat Khas Malaysia (SMART) Headquarters.
WHO has introduced the Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Initiative following the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti in 2010 to create an EMT network consisting of a trained and certified team.
This seminar is aimed at preparation in providing professional and fast medical assistance for all disaster events that occur around the world.
This seminar was attended by specialist doctors from various specialties in hospitals throughout Malaysia.
Among those who delivered the talk were representatives from the WHO, namely Mr. Sean Casey and Dr. Roy Corsico.
Also on display are the latest and most advanced medical equipment and supplies suitable for use by EMTs.
