The tenacity and patience of Hanis Sofea Norazman’s 18, selling biscuits to support her mother has attracted the attention of several parties.
Econsave supermarket, was among the parties that came forward to present donations in the form of daily necessities worth RM300.00.
North Region 3 Manager, Econsave (Cash & Carry Sdn Bhd) Shah Effendy Rosman said he sympathized and was impressed with the plight of Hanis Sofea who worked hard to take care of her sick mother.
“Through this donation from Econsave Prihatin, we hope to be able to ease the burden of this family’s expenses.
“We will try to continue to provide further assistance if necessary to this family,” he told Ipohecho when met at Hanis Sofea’s house in Pangsa Alur Tasek Timur 1, Taman Mewah Bercham yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Principal of Raja Perempuan Ipoh National Secondary School (SMK), Wiza Rozahrin Mohamed Radzi who represented the District Education Officer, North Kinta District, Mohamad Hazawawi Yusof also presented a cash donation to Hanis Sofea.
“Hanis Sofea is a student who is independent and dedicated to her studies despite being faced with various challenges in life.
“Hanis Sofea’s tenacity and patience as a teenager should be an example to other teenagers.
“I represent the District Education Officer, Kinta Utara District hoping that this donation can ease the daily expenses with his mother,” she said.
Hanis Sofea is the only child of her mother, Zunita Ghazali, 47, who has been suffering after a mild stroke (minor stroke) for the past seven months.
She is a former student of SMK Raja Perempuan Ipoh, running a biscuit making business to cover her mother’s expenses and medical costs.
