TAIPING: The state government always reminds local authorities (PBT) and related agencies to facilitate investment matters in the state.
Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said that his side is also constantly improving many things including cooperation with various agencies to speed up the investment-related process as recommended by the Prime Minister.
“Actually, in Exco meetings and Investment Committee meetings, we remind all PBTs including all parties involved that we have a customer charter.
“Because when these investors come in, if they can come in today, they want to start doing business tomorrow because they invest a lot and need time as soon as possible to get a return.
“There are some examples we take into account such as they need a sufficient water supply, so I have informed them in the Perak Water Board meeting to look at this matter proactively.
“Similarly, the electricity supply is sufficient, so we have reminded Tenaga Nasional Berhad to be ready to help, as for PBT regarding business licenses and other regulations for them to operate easily,” he said.
He said this in response to Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s request that the governments in the four states and PBT speed up the process related to the investment of giant Chinese companies.
The four states are Pahang, Perak, Johor and Terengganu.
He said this to reporters at a press conference after officiating the Bantuan Meriah Beraya Sejahtera Bersama program in conjunction with Aidilfitri 2023, at a clothing store in Kamunting, here on Saturday.
Last week, through Anwar’s four-day official visit to China starting on Wednesday, Malaysia received the highest investment commitment worth RM170 billion.
