BAGAN SERAI: A trailer carrying a load of reinforced concrete was destroyed by fire in the entire tire section at Kilometer 181 of the North South Highway (PLUS), here today.
Assistant Director of Fire and Rescue Operations Division of JBPM State of Perak, Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said he received a call regarding the incident at 10.24 this morning.
He said members from the Bagan Serai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) with the help of the Alor Pongsu and Parit Buntar Voluntary Firefighter (PBS) rushed to the scene of the incident.
“The fire involved a trailer loaded with concrete that caught fire in a total of 10 tires. However there were no victims.
“The operation commander then ordered members to put out the fire using two auxiliary streams of water from the machinery tank until the fire was completely extinguished,” he told reporters on Thursday.
The operation ended completely at 11.13 am.
