IPOH: The Perak State Department of Agriculture organized Riang Ria Raya Promotion and Sale of Agro-Based Industry Products (IAT) Program starting yesterday until April 14, 2023 at the Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan field here.
Menteri Besar of Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani said, this program is an annual program held every year by the Perak State Department of Agriculture to help entrepreneurs in the Agriculture Based Industry (IAT) introduce and market their products.
According to him, a total of 18 entrepreneurs from all districts in the state of Perak have been involved in this program.
“Among the products sold are biscuits and Raya cakes, chips, chili sauce. Rendang Tok and various IAT products from entrepreneurs in the State of Perak. The prices of the products sold are 10 percent (%) lower than the normal price,” he said after officiating the program here yesterday.
Saarani said, in this program a total of 44 entrepreneurs received assistance funds worth RM 820,000 from the state government this year and it increased compared to last year, which was a total of 37 people with assistance funds amounting to RM 550,000.
“The aid is in the form of machine and equipment assistance, upgrading the processing premises of entrepreneurs’ products, upgrading the infrastructure for entrepreneurs as well as packaging assistance for agri-based industry entrepreneurs’ products,” he said.
He said, until last March, a total of 568 agro-based industry entrepreneurs who had registered with the Perak State Department of Agriculture were actively doing business.
“The total sales value of the product until 2022 is as much as RM 71,513,377.39 and the total production value is 11,739,598 metric tons.
“Compared to 2021, there are 547 entrepreneurs and a total sales value of RM 69,611,436.76 with a total production value of 10,812,999 metric tons,” he said.
He said, in addition, a total of 6 agro-based industry entrepreneurs under the guidance of the Perak State Department of Agriculture have successfully penetrated the international market, among them Syilis Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, Nab Food Industries, Jamilah Mansor Enterprise (M) Sdn Bhd, Shahrinie Food Industries, Che Din Food Industries dan Royal Rendang Tok Mak Nik.
