IPOH – Buying used clothes to style on Aidilfitri is increasing among the community this year.
Most of them visit used clothing stores (bundles) around the city to save money preparing for Raya.
Clerk, Fatin Liyana Abd Rahman said, she bought two pairs of used shoes for her sons who are 13 and 16 years old.
“The two pairs of shoes are well-known brands and are still in good condition.
“The price is also reasonable which is RM80 compared to a new one which reaches RM200 a pair,” she said.
Fatin Liyana said, she also bought two shirts for her husband in addition to the blouse for herself.
The engineer, Eddy Aliff Abu Bakar, also bought a raya shirt this year at a used clothing store.
“I buy used T-shirts, jerseys and jeans. The price is much cheaper compared to the new ones in the supermarket.
“We have to get rid of the negative perception of used clothes because they are also of good quality if you choose them well,” he said.
In the meantime, a second-hand clothing dealer who wants to be known as Shukor admits that his sales have increased sharply throughout the month of Ramadan.
“Used clothes, shoes and handbags are good quality and an alternative for consumers to save,” he said.
