Malaysian and in particular Ipoh’s pride Michelle Yeoh, who recently won an Oscar for her role in “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” received a hero’s welcome back to her homeland. Thousands of devoted fans eagerly awaited her arrival at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, where she graciously took selfies and signed autographs.
In a press conference, Yeoh expressed her passion for elevating the Malaysian film industry and working with talented local filmmakers. She hopes to one day create a Malaysian-Hollywood film, showcasing the best of her home country.
She will continue filming “Wicked” in London with Ariana Grande and Jeff Goldblum. And will also appear in the Disney+ show “American Born Chinese” alongside Ke Huy Quan.
