Perak Pink Champion Association (PPCP) held a get-together today at Yayasan Ipoh (YI). PPCP are an independent voluntary support group consisting of breast cancer survivors and individuals passionate in providing breast cancer awareness.
In addition to holding a small “Raya” get-together, they also held a talk on nutrition, led by one of their members, who is an engineer but also a certified nutritionist, where among other things, they dispelled the myth about chickens being injected with growth hormones. As it is simply not economical to individually catch and inject each chicken with such chemicals.
Despite a slowdown caused by the Movement Control Order (MCO), PPCP are still active in providing support to breast cancer survivors. As many of their members are survivors themselves, they can relate to new survivors, who may feel sensitive on certain issues but are better able to accept discussion on those issues, coming from fellow survivors.
PPCP will be hosting awareness activities in the last week of October this year, at Pantai Hospital. More information will be forthcoming as we near the date.
