PARIT BUNTAR: A man died after the van he was driving crashed into a grocery store in Kampung Simpang 5, today.
Assistant Director of the Perak Fire and Rescue Operations Division (JBPM), Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said, the victim identified as Ezrul Azmi, 33, was confirmed dead at the scene of the incident.
“Firefighters received a call regarding the incident at 8am, then members from the Parit Buntar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the location.
“When the machinery arrived at the scene of the incident, it was found that a road accident involving an employee’s van had hit a grocery store and caused the driver (victim) to be trapped,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
He said the firemen then used rescue equipment to remove the trapped victim and handed him over to the police for further action.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Ros Azri Abd Rahman ended at 8.42 am.
