IPOH: The Public Auction of Impounded Vehicles organized by the Perak Road Transport Department (JPJ) today successfully collected a total of RM487,750.
The Perak JPJ said in a statement that the auction session at the Ipoh JPJ which started at 9am involved a total of 41 vehicles that were seized for various offenses under the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
“Of that amount, 35 vehicles can be licensed and six vehicles cannot be licensed (scrapped).
“The number of vehicles auctioned are motorcycles (8), cars/vans (32) and vans (1),” he said.
According to him, the vehicle that fetched the highest auction result was the Honda-made vehicle model Integra which was successfully auctioned at a price of RM 41,500.
“While the lowest auction result was a motorcycle with a bid price of RM50,” he said.
He said, Public auction documents have been sold from 15 to 19 May last at a price of RM 70 per copy.
“While for the public inspection, JPJ has opened the gates to bidders on the same date from 9 am to 12 noon and 2.30 pm to 4 pm.
“A total of 47 bidders have attended and participated in the auction this time. Bidders who successfully bid on vehicles must complete the transfer of ownership of vehicles successfully bid, within seven days from the date of the auction in accordance with Section 13 of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
Perak State JPJ Director, Mohammad Yusoff Abustan took the time to attend the public auction session this morning.
