GERIK: Police are tracking a male suspect who is believed to have molested a 22-year-old woman on an express bus traveling from Seri Iskandar, Perak to Tanah Merah, Kelantan, last Tuesday.
Gerik District Police Chief, Superintendent Zulkifli Mahmood said his party received a report regarding the incident yesterday at 3.11pm.
According to him, the victim claimed that she was groped by a man aged about 20, who was sitting in the back seat.
“The incident happened while the victim was sleeping, then she realized she had been groped. The victim then made a police report at the Banggol Judah Police Station, Kelantan.
“Preliminary investigation found that the incident happened while the express bus was near the Titiwangsa rest and treatment stop (RNR), Gerik, here,” he told reporters here today.
He added that the case was investigated according to Section 354 of the Penal Code.
Accordingly, Zulkifli asked the public with information regarding the incident to immediately pass on the information by contacting the Gerik District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 05-7912222, or any nearby police station to assist in the investigation.
