PARIT: A total of 18 students from the Faculty of Painting and Design of the University of Technology Mara (UiTM) Perak branch successfully created a mural on the wall of the Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Felcra Nasaruddin, Bota here.
Program Mural Jelajah Bakti Mahasiswa UiTM Cawangan Perak 2023 involves the Graphic Student Association (Degraph), Cempaka Sari College UiTM Seri Iskandar and SK Felcra Nasaruddin.
Program Director, Wan Nurul Izzati Wan Muhammad Zulkifli said that this mural project was attended by diploma and bachelor’s degree students from the Graphic & Digital Media Department of UiTM Perak.
Wan Nurul, who is also a lecturer in the department said that it took them two days to complete the mural painting.
“We chose SK Felcra Nasaruddin which is a school in a rural area not far from the UiTM Perak campus.
“This mural painting with the theme of education and flora is not only a decoration to beautify the school but an injection of enthusiasm to the students here to continue to succeed,” he said.
Wan Nurul Izzati explained that this program gives exposure to students who are also members of Degraph to manage social programs.
It also gives students the opportunity to develop a network of collaboration between locals.
“The participation of these students provides added value to them in terms of improving communication skills, self-confidence and leadership qualities.
“The impact on the university is that we establish academic and volunteer collaboration involving student and staff.
“It strengthens the sustainability of bilateral cooperation between students and the local community, that is the school,” she said.
