IPOH: The police arrested a 20-year-old foreigner who was involved in a case of indecency at the Taman Perpaduan night market here yesterday.
Ipoh District Police Chief, Ipoh District Police Chief, ACP Yahaya Hassan said that the police confirmed receiving a police report about the incident yesterday from a 36-year-old female victim.
“Today, the Ipoh Police have detected a 14-second video that was circulated through social media showing a case of the arrest of a suspect of indecency at the night market site of Taman Perpaduan, which has attracted the attention of the general public.
“The suspect who committed the crime has already been arrested. The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code (obscenity),” he told reporters on Wednesday.
He said that the police also succeeded in obtaining a remand order against the suspect for three days starting today until Friday for further investigation.
“With the arrest of the suspect, this case has been successfully resolved.
“The police will complete the investigation of this case and refer the investigation papers to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for proposed charges,” he said.
Accordingly, he advised the public not to make any speculations about the video that could affect the police’s investigation or cause annoyance to the community.
Earlier, a video went viral on social media showing a 14-second video that was spread through social media showing a case of the arrest of a suspect of indecency at the Taman Perpaduan night market site.
