IPOH: A woman died, believed to have been killed by her boyfriend after being beaten with a broom stick in a fight on the top floor of a shophouse in Taman Song Choon here early this morning.
Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Hassan said, at about 4.34am, the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD) District Control Center received information from a 30-year-old woman about a fight between a husband and wife at the location in question. in which the victim’s wife was seriously injured.
“Preliminary investigations by the police at the scene found a 24-year-old woman was unconscious, lying on a bed with a pillow.
“The victim was confirmed dead by an ambulance officer from Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB),” he said in a statement here today.
Yahaya said the police also arrested the victim’s boyfriend, a 23-year-old man who admitted to beating the victim and three other individuals between the ages of 29 and 65 who were at the scene.
According to him, this case is classified as a murder case and investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
“Urine screening tests conducted on all four suspects found that the first suspect, the victim’s boyfriend, tested positive for methamphetamine.
“The investigating party succeeded in obtaining a remand order against all four suspects for seven days from 25 June 2023 until 1 July 2023 for further investigation,” he said.
He said, with the arrest of the suspect involved, this case has been successfully resolved.
“The investigating party will complete the investigation of this case and refer the investigation paper to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for recommendations on Charges,” he said
