IPOH: The Malaysian International Carnatic Music Festival (MYICMF) 2023 organized by the Sugam Cultural Organization of Malaysia took place in this city.
Chairman of the Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Loh Sze Yee was present to inaugurate the program.
“Congratulations and well done to the Malaysian Sugam Cultural Organization which has been determined to successfully organize the Malaysian International Carnatic Music Festival (MYICMF) 2023.
“I understand that SUGAM has organized the 5th edition of MYICMF since its inauguration in 2019,” he said through facebook today.
Loh said, the event consisted of three main cores which are Concerts, Conferences and Competitions which focused on three main outputs which are Entertainment, Education and Excellence to provide a unique experience to the audience to appreciate the heritage and culture of India.
“This internationally recognized and supported event witnessed and showcased more than 10 internationally renowned Carnatic Artists from around the world along with more than 50 talents from Malaysia.
“This program has opened a new platform for not only artists, but the public to know and gain knowledge about Indian classical music and most importantly to strengthen racial and national unity through this meaningful event,” he said.
