IPOH: The State Government continues to commit to multiply efforts to increase the amount of Malay reserve land (TRM) in the state by adding another 2,409.28 hectares of government land that has the potential to be developed.
Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said that the decision was made in the State Government Meeting yesterday and made the total amount of TRM in the state of Perak continue to increase to 955,587.8 hectares.
“The TRM’s additional approval involves Pasir Panjang Hulu, Mukim Pasir Panjang Hulu and Kampung Makmur in Mukim Kampong Gajah Mukim at Perak Tengah district with an area of 183 hectares and 1,102 hectares.
“It also involves the areas of Mambang Di Awan and Sungai Kroh in Mukim Chenderiang, Batang Padang, with an area of 233.87 hectares and 476.3 hectares; Kota Baharu area in Mukim Teja, Kampar (395.36 hectares) and Slim Hills area in Mukim Slim, Muallim ( 21.25 hectares),” he said through a statement here today.
Saarani said that the Perak Lands and Mines Office (PTG) also successfully negotiated to gazette an area of 800 hectares in Gunung Bersout, Batang Padang which is a waqf (is an inalienable charitable endowment under Islamic law) of compensation for mosques throughout the state of Perak as an additional area of TRM.
“The gazette proposal will be taken up for approval by the State Government Meeting Council in the near future,” he said.
